Thousands of fans missed out on the early opening set of AFI during the Carnivores Tour stop at Sleep Train Amphitheater in Chula Vista, California Tuesday, September 16, 2014. Most fans were stuck in traffic caused by a late afternoon microburst rainstorm triggered by hurricane Odile over Mexico’s Baja California peninsula.

Red light strobes, heavy fog, cymbal vibration, and an awesome jump off the drum kit by AFI’s front man, Davey Havok , AFI leaped into a very short nine song set.

Front man Davey Havok vocals sounded fantastic, the band didn’t (and doesn’t) disappoint those that braved the near 100-degree heat and humidity mostly playing earlier tunes from their Sing the Sorrow and the newer 2013 album Burials.

The Carnivores Tour with Link Park and Thirty Seconds to Mars ends this week at the Concord Pavilion in Concord, CA.

AFI Setlist:

  • The Leaving Song, Pt 2
  • Girls Not Grey
  • I hope you Suffer
  • Medicate
  • Love Like Winter
  • 17 Crimes
  • Days of Phoenix
  • Silver and Cold
  • Miss Murder
