Linkin Park brought The Hunting Party to Sleep Train Amphitheater in Chula Vista, California for the Carnivores Tour on Tuesday Sept 16, 2014.
The house lights went down as the hum of instruments began, strobe lights flashing, fog creating a red haze behind the middle keyboard stage, band members began taking their position on stage for nearly a 2 hour set and what would be the third to last night of the Carnivores Tour.
Dual Frontmen lead singer, Chester Bennington, and, vocalist/rapper, Mike Shinoda kicked off the show with a new song “Guilty all the same” from Linkin Park’s new album ‘the Hunting Party’. Linkin Park is known for their electronica, hip hop rap, with a slight alternative rock style but tonight the audience got a taste of a harder edgy song from The Hunting Party album: Rebellion. The audience seemed very open to the new edgy and heavy rock sound from Linkin Park’s new song Rebellion.
All night the songs seemed to meld together very nicely, the setlist was very well constructed and offered a few songs from every album, but the band’s interaction with the audience seemed limited at times through the night and sadly an audience favorite, “Breaking the Habit” was not played.
Over all great experience, great show.
